Reviews
We are honestly disappointed at our experience here. It’s been on our list to try given all the great reviews. We ordered Drunken Noodles with fried tofu (spice level 1) and Secret Wife’s stir fry with chicken (spice level 3). Server was right that spice level 3 is not really spicy. Apparently, level 4 is a big jump on spiciness. Both dishes taste ok but just not very Thai in flavor. Maybe too Americanized. In fact, both dishes pretty much taste the same. Crispy tofu would have been better if it was fully mixed in with the sauce and noodles. They were tasteless on their own left on the side. Siam Thai which is in our neighborhood is way more authentic so we don’t see a reason to make it back here.
The food was fantastic. The Tom Yum Soup had an excellent combination of seasonings that kept you coming back for more. The place was very busy and a bit understaffed, and it took a while to get in and out. The staff were working as hard as they could. And was appreciated
This is without question the best Thai restaurant in Asheville. The owner/chef studied at the Royal Thai Academy after growing up as a native of Thailand. She has a real talent and runs her business with high quality food as the main priority. Thai food in Asheville simply doesn't get more authentic that this.
I have tried everything, from the appetizers and salads to curries and noodle entrees. Although I like some menu items better than others, I have yet to find anything that I could say was an average or below average food item. I love this place!
When we have friends in from out-of-town or when we want to do dinner with local friends, this is always in the final round of choices. Highly recommend!
Update - I added two pictures. The Thai Fries are amazing and as you can see, the dipping sauce is GONE! The other dish is the Thai Cashew Stir-fry...it is stupid good!
Drunken noodles, Tom kha soup, secret wife with chicken, papaya salad and pad Thai. Wow we ordered too much food, each portion could feed 2 people. Prices are affordable, food is fresh and so well seasoned. The veggies aren't soggy, fresh rolls are crazy good and crisp. This is the best Thai food I've had in North Carolina.
Good food. I got the chef's special spicy stir fry on a level 3 (of 5) but it wasn't spicy enough for me. Would try a 4 next time if you like spicy. It had great flavor though. The calamari was fried perfectly.
Outstanding!! The crazy noodles with fried chicken was spectacular! Was blown away by the flavor! My wife and I have eaten here before and it’s always amazing, but this dish was next level. It spoke to me on a spiritual level. Recommend getting a ginger cider to help cleanse your pallet while you eat so you can experience the wow of the first bite throughout your meal. The picture shown is about half way through the dish
We are truly disappointed after being excited to try it & hearing good things. The Boat noodles tasted nothing like boat noodles, hardly any flavor. The papaya salad was just tossed together not even in a mortar and pestle. Only good thing was the Thai Tea. I’ve had better and cheaper pad Thai, and overall not worth it. On top of that, they up charge for meat after it already being expensive. For instance Pad Thai was $16 they charge $3 extra for beef which is ridiculous in my opinion. However, they had good portion sizes. We never asked for refunds, just ordered another meal hoping it would be better. I hope your experience will be better than ours. We are from SC so will most likely never be back.
Food is always exceptional and done to perfection! Mama's secret dish is amazing and so tasty.
Service was slow - putting in order and getting more water - and maybe it was due to being full for dinner. It wasn't a problem bc the company was great and we weren't in a rush.
